Private Days
Calm 1:1 or small group navigation tuition, plus guided local hill days when the aim is a good day out rather than a guaranteed summit.
Private Tuition
A private navigation day can be gentle first steps, a confidence rebuild after a bad clag experience, or a focused day on bearings and relocation before a trip north. Eilidh will ask what you can already do, what you avoid doing, and where you tend to feel the map stops matching the ground.
The day then uses terrain that teaches the right thing. That might be low rough ground above Glen Nevis, path junctions near Torlundy, or a quieter ridge where the contours are the lesson.
Routes And Areas
Travel is included within 30 miles of Fort William. Days farther away are quoted with mileage at 45p per mile.
Prices
For 1 to 2 people, built around your ability and confidence.
For 3 to 6 people who know each other and want the same sort of learning day.
A guided day around Glen Nevis, the Mamores or Ardgour for a small party.
A 2 hour Fort William session for questions, route planning and map basics before a hill day.
Typical Timings
Most private days start at 09:30 and finish around 16:30. In short winter daylight the route is tightened and the learning points are kept closer to safe exits. The day is still useful. It is just more honest about January.
Small Detail
Eilidh carries six spare Silva Expedition 4 compasses in a dented blue biscuit tin because they stop rattling that way.
Turned Down Work
A 25% deposit holds a private booking. The balance is due 7 days before the day out. Email hello@themountainofme.com to ask about dates.
